During this workshop, you'll roll up your sleeves and learn to hand-build a ceramic serving tray that after firing can be styled with hors devours, used as a cheeseboard, or displayed as an art piece on your kitchen wall.
You'll learn about the stages of clay, basic hand-building techniques, and experiment with textures, create relief areas through stamping, scoring, and slipping; as well as using custom design elements to reflect your own personal style. You'll also learn techniques for applying color with under-glaze on the clean, white earthenware.
We'll inspire you with creative ideas, instruct you on techniques and let you dive in and get busy. These make such a lovely housewarming or holiday gift, but you may not be able to part with them! Your art piece will be kiln fired and available for pick-up at the studio or shipping the following week.
